Munich to Toronto

When it grew light the next morning the Airbus A330 was flying over the Mediterranean Sea towards Italy. The Alps were covered in clouds with only the tops of high mountains sticking through.

The landing in Munich was on time and I had a 4 hour stop over there before an Air Canada flight to Toronto in Canada. The first hour was spent standing in a painfully long and slow queue to go through the security area at the airport. The delay was because they only had one metal detector for people to walk through and 2 hand luggage x-ray machines.

After getting through and figuring out where I was and where the departure gates were, I found a few empty seats and lay down to wait for the flight.
This leg is a long one too at 8 hours across the Atlantic. I hadn’t managed to get a window seat this time but was able to change from a middle row seat to an isle seat next to a window seat which was occupied by a little old Indian gentleman who was travelling with his family to Canada. Because of the heavily booked flight he had been split up from his wife, daughter and grandson who were sitting a few rows in front. We chatted for a very short while (I wasn’t in the  mood to struggle to talk and be understood because of the language barrier) so stuck in my earphones and watched a movie between little naps.
At one stage he wanted to get out and see his family and I got up to walk around a bit. When I returned tp my seat ea had come back with his little 2 year old grandson. Grrrrrr! As I expected he got a bit restless after a while, so they got up again and walked around. I was hoping that was the last I saw of the kid, but they soon returned. Grrrrr again, but luckily the old man thought it better if I sat in his seat next to the window and he in my isle seat so he could get up and down easily. I thought that was a wonderful idea as he had not been looking out the window before, so I happily spent the rest of the remaining 6 hours staring out the window at nothing but clouds and the blue sea below, nodding off every now and then. So I got my window seat after all.
The plane landed at Lester B. Pearson Airport in Toronto at 3:00 pm and after spending a short while in a very short queue at immigration I was met by my sister and two nephews Mark and Brad.
