The weather remains very hot and humid, with the temperature reaching 30ºC so we spent much of Tuesday and Wednesday in the swimming pool. Sunset is at 9 pm. Mark had his final driving license test which now allows him all the privileges of a fully licensed driver. Brad is doing driving training at the moment and can only drive while accompanied by a licensed driver.

After supper at about 8.30 pm we all took a drive to the local Dairy Queen for ice cream which we ate on the edge of the Avon watching the swans. About 2 weeks ago one of the swans, Princess, was found dead some way up the river. She had been caught by a predator. This swan's lineage can be traced back to Queen Elizabeth's swan herd. In 1967 six pairs of swans were given to commemorate Canada's centennial, and two of those swans were given to Stratford. Princess was the granddaughter of that pair.
