Ultralight Pilot's Association of Canada Convention

Last weekend when I went for a half hour flight in the Airborne trike in Elora I found out that the Ultralight Pilot's Association of Canada (UPAC)
was holding its annual convention on a private strip on a farm outside a town called Plattsville in Ontario, about 35 minutes drive east of Stratford, so I dragged the family out there this morning to check it out...
Trikes and tents next to the runway
Camping was permitted in a nearby field
As you can see from the pics, quite a number of planes flew in and free camping was available away from the aircraft and hangars and camping under aircraft wings was also permitted. Free WiFi was also available to campers. There were aircraft displays, and demonstrations for example the Rotax 2 stroke engines and  Bing carburetors and talks. One talk was about drones and aviation law (which I missed) but I did attended a short talk about formation flying. Food and entertainment was also part of the program.
Although this was an all-weekend event, some trike pilots were packing up just after 2 pm as there was a risk of thunderstorms later in the afternoon.

Their newsletter is called Light Flight.
