New Blue Spruce and Tannie Duifie

Glynis wanted to block off a view of the neighbour's tennis court fence from their deck out at the back of their house, so we went  in search of a suitable tree to plant there. We ended up getting 2 Blue Spruce trees to accompany the existing spruce in the corner.

So Robin Blue Spruce was added to the garden this afternoon when it cooled down. Now the 6 or so years wait for it too grow up and fill in the gap where the tennis court fence shows through. Trees take a long time to grow in Canada because of the limited growing seasons.
In the existing spruce in the corner is a little dove nest. The pair of doves, who've been named "Tannie Duifie" and "Oom Hennie" (after 2 people I worked with during my national service), return to the nest every year, and this summer have come back 3 times to lay eggs.
