Bush Baby

Lesser Bush baby
Lesser Bushbaby

I was woken last night at about 3 am by a sound I can only describe as a fruit bat with a guava stuck in it's throat - a very deep, loud squeak. I listened through the window and noticed it was moving in the trees. I got up and looked through my bathroom window and saw a small animal jump from one tree to another. It was not a fruit bat, because they don't jump and flop from tree to tree. After a short while I saw a small squirrel shaped creature emerge from the tree and walk along the telephone lines to a cactus tree where it stopped and pulled off some flower buds.

After some investigation on the the net this morning I identified it as a lesser bushbaby, Galago Moholi and borrowed pic from the net.
